How do you behave in a locker room?

(Video Below) Hey what’s up you guys, It’s Jason Coleman with Sasquatch Fitness and I just got back from a good run this morning. It’s fairly chilly out there this time of year. It’s the seventeenth of December and it was 35º.  A little bit brisk for me. I really don’t like to run in the cold, but

it was a good run after all.

But today I’m visiting with you because I really want to talk to you about  locker room etiquette at a gym. Now I know everybody has their own opinions on this type of thing and I certainly have mine. I want to share that with you and even call a few people out because I’m tired of it. I’ll be honest with you. It’s maybe not directed at you, but it’s certainly directed at alot of the older folks in the locker room. They seem to have this ‘I don’t care’ attitude…’It’s my bedroom or it’s my house, I can do whatever I want.’ That’s NOT the case.

Folks, if you’re in the locker room, nobody wants to see your junk!

I don’t care who you are. I don’t care what you’re doing. No one wants to see your junk and  if you do want to see somebody’s junk, you shouldn’t be in there.

First, modesty is the best policy when it comes to being in the locker room. If you have a towel with you when you get out of the shower, cover yourself up with the towel when you’re walking around the locker room. This air dry stuff is for the birds. You can take that and walk with it. Cover yourself up in the locker room, especially you old guys. Nobody wants to see your stuff. Nobody wants to have you walking around willy nilly doing whatever you want. It’s disgusting. I don’t care who you are. It’s just gross. You gotta stop doing that stuff. You gotta think about other people. When you’re in an environment, in a shared environment like a locker room, people don’t want to have to deal with your business. They want to get in there, change, workout, get out, take a shower, change and go about their merry way. Whether it’s going to work, going back home, some of you retirees go for a cup of coffee after you work out. Whatever you wanna do, but cover yourself up. Modesty is the best policy.

The other thing I’ve noticed in the locker room is guys cutting their fingernails and just letting  the stuff fly onto the floor. I don’t know what the etiquette is there, but to me, that’s gross. If you’re gonna cut your fingernails, go to the trashcan, go outside and cut em, cut em over the toilet, cut em in a little pile and take em and throw em away…whatever.  But Cutting them and just letting them fly onto the locker room floor is unsat and disgusting and you need to fix that I don’t care who you are.

So, once again, for you guys who are just willy nilly in the locker room: Modesty is the best policy. Cover yourself up. Nobody wants to see your junk.

That’s been the Sasquatch Fitness Rant Of The DayLocker Room Etiquette. Think about everybody else in the room with you. We’ll see ya next time.
